Retail, hospitality and leisure businesses in England will not have to pay business rates for the 2020-21 tax year. Maidstone Borough Council will be sending revised bills to those businesses that qualify confirming that there are no business rates payable from 1 April.

Grant for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses with property with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
If businesses in these sectors have a rateable value of up to £15,000, they will receive a £10,000 grant

If properties in this sector have a rateable value of over £15,000 and less than £51,000, then they will receive a £25,000 grant

A letter or email has been issued to all businesses who pay business rates and qualify for the grants with instructions on what to do to receive the grant. Any business that believes they qualify and has not yet received any correspondence, please complete this form



Support for businesses that pay little or no business rates but occupy property
Businesses in receipt of Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR) Rural Rate Relief (RRR) or tapered relief will be given a £10,000 grant.
