BBS Construction Limited has been awarded Construction Project of the Year 2019 by Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce for its new Hush Heath Winery building, and the same project has been shortlisted for five further awards including for the National Federation of Builders, Constructing Excellence SECBE and KEiBA.

BBS acts as a main contractor for both new build and refurbishment projects in the education, healthcare, commercial and residential sectors and is based in Tovil. The firm has clients from across the south east and believes Maidstone's central location has been a key factor in its success.

Geoff Slee, BBS Director, said: "Being the county town of Kent, Maidstone provides the perfect location for us to service our South East region client base, offering excellent links to motorways and transport. The local skills expertise is vast and we have established excellent partnerships with our local supply chain.

"Maidstone offers a diverse range of trades and local labour – on the majority of our local sites, our suppliers and tradesmen are from the immediate and surrounding areas."

Despite its recent successes the firm is not resting on its laurels and has recently received funding for CITB training which will enable its employees to further enhance their skills and also open up possible apprenticeship opportunities within the Group.

Geoff continued: "Our business success is based on investing in our people who can then provide a quality service to our clients.

"Our repeat customer base is high, and we pride ourselves on the fact that some of our clients we have been working with in excess of 15 years, which is highly unusual for a main contractor."
