BizSpace, a national provider of flexible office space, has invested more than £4 million into Maidstone town centre by acquiring two key sites.
The news comes after MBC’s Business Terrace saw more than 7,000sq ft of redundant office space converted into a buzzing hub for the town’s business community. Launched in 2015 the award-winning Business Terrace initiative is the council’s smash hit commercial venture, and its success has inspired the private sector to invest in the thriving County Town of Kent.
BizsSpace’s project will see Kestrel House and Knightrider House transformed into new office space aimed at start-ups, SMEs, freelancers and entrepreneurs. The units will provide a total of 21,500 sq ft of office space, of which 5,500 sq ft is already let.
Sean Henry, Business Terrace Co-Ordinator, said: “This project is a fantastic investment into the borough.
“The Council put its money where its mouth is with The Business Terrace and paved the way for flexible, modern and affordable office space in the town centre. It’s great to see how the public sector’s commercial success has encouraged other providers to step forward to realise additional units for the town’s flourishing business community.
“BizSpace’s new initiative will be a major boost to the town and cement Maidstone’s position as a destination for burgeoning business.”
