MBC Business Terrace supporting Small Business Saturday
06 Dec 2019
Maidstone’s Business Terrace is proud to be supporting the 2019 Small Business Saturday – taking part tomorrow 7 December.
Now in its seventh year in the UK, Small Business Saturday has grown significantly with an estimated £812m spent in small businesses across the UK during the 2018 event. The day reflects the work of the Business Terrace which is Maidstone Borough Council’s Growth Accelerator, providing a new generation of flexible workspace to help businesses to start, grow and thrive.
Since its launch in 2015, the Maidstone Borough Council Business Terrace has expanded three times, creating over 7,000ft additional office space. It has supported more than 800 businesses to launch and grow, hosted three of Kent’s “Top 30 under 30” entrepreneurs, two successful Dragon’s Den applicants, and supported around 100 other innovative businesses in a variety of sectors.
John Foster, MBC Head of Regeneration & Economic Development said:
“MBC is delighted to recognise Small Business Saturday – an event that echoes the work of the Business Terrace and the organisations we support. “The Terrace is here to help facilitate start-up organisations with experts and facilities on hand providing help and opportunities for so many small businesses."
Small Business Saturday says of the event:
“We want all kinds of small businesses to get involved, whether they are a family business, local shop, online business, wholesaler, business service or small manufacturer.”
MBC’s Business Terrace currently facilitates 36 businesses (office and committed hot desk space) and provides 48 virtual offices to organisations which range from ‘one-man bands’ to companies employing more than 20 people.
The Terrace is located in the heart of Maidstone opposite King Street surface level car park; next to the Bus Station (with Park & Ride) and The Mall Shopping Centre, The Business Terrace is ideally situated for businesses serving local, regional, national and even international markets.back to list
